Getting started
What do I need to
bring to my first session?
Initial paperwork and consent forms will be completed electronically before your appointment. Beyond that, we simply encourage you to come as you are. Therapy works best within a space built on honesty, openness, and trust, and there is no expectation to have everything figured out before you begin.
Getting started
What can I expect during
the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to better understand what has brought you to therapy, the challenges you may be experiencing and the goals you hope to work toward. We may discuss your personal history, current concerns, relationships, emotional experiences, or past stressors.

More importantly, the first session is also a chance for you to determine whether you feel safe, comfortable. and connected with your therapist.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
At Waves Theory, we understand that finding the right therapeutic connection matters deeply. Each of our therapists brings a unique approach, personality, and area of focus while sharing the same commitment to compassionate, trauma-informed care.
